The Yum List has graciously listed Drift Dining and Bar as one of the best restaurants in KL in 2015!
We have reviewed our customers favorites to present a top 5. Have you tried some of our favourites? Of course all the things on our menu are AMAZING, however it seems that YOU, our customers seem to have some favourites to come back for again, and again. Interested to know what they are, read on below!
1. Crispy School Prawns
By far the prefect bar snack lightly coated in a salt and pepper flour mix then deep fried until golden brown and crispy served with a well balanced sweet sour and salty Thai nam prik a Asian inspired dish with strong Thai influence. A perfect accompaniment to your tasty cocktail or starter drink.
2. Truffle Mushroom Arancini
This is a drift favorite traditionally a Classic Italian dish with a modern Australian twist risotto balls lightly bread crumbed deep fried to golden perfection served with a tangy salad cream which is infused with onions and garlic crowed with fresh Parmesan and a light drizzle of white Truffel olive oil. It has been said they are by far the best arancini in town.. come see for yourself!
3. Torched Scottish Salmon
One of our seafood masterpieces, this Scottish Salmon is torched to perfection and adorned with cucumber and horseradish daintily placed atop these succulent slices. It is excecuted with a finely blended vinaigrette of black vinegar. A wonderful taste sensation for those with a lighter palate.
4. Slow Braised Baby Pork Ribs
Imported baby back pork ribs from Spain this is a signature dish I must try when dinning at drift . This is a Japanese inspired dish the ribs are marinated in herbs and spices for 24 hours then slow braised for many hours until the meat is tender and cooked to perfection. Before serving its coated in a Japanese yakaniku sauce a perfect balance of sweet and savory crowned with a red radish and green apple salad which is light and crisp and cuts through the richness of the pork. Squeeze in the slice of lime for an extra zip and you have the perfect dish that’s bursting in flavour. A MUST try for pork lovers.
5. 250g Australian Black Angus Strip Loin
We import the grain fed strip loin from Australia, Black Angus, which is cut to aweight of 250 grams. Before cooking it is simply seasoned with freshly grounded black pepper and Australian Murray River sea salt. We then pan sear, caramelizing the meat to a golden brown, finishing with a hint of butter and lemon juice in the pan to create a wonderful foamed butter sauce that adds the final touch to the cooking process of this incredible cut of meat. After being well rested for at least 5 minutes, it is flashed in a hot oven at 200 degrees for 4 minutes, then rested again for another 2 minutes and then ready to slice for a medium rare, perfectly cooked steak.With a sharp knife we thinly slice the strip loin into evenly sized pieces and it's ready to rock. At Drift we keep it simple, serving it with fried baby potatoes dusted in dried mint and rosemary, and a punchy 'Drift' wasabi butter on the side.
