Australia Day is more than a public holiday, it's a celebration!

It is celebrated every year on January 26th, commemorating the first landing in Australia by Captain Arthur Phillip. It is a day in which Australians come together to celebrate not only what is great about their country but also what is great about being an Australian.
Australians unite and spend the day with friends and loved ones - enjoying food off the 'barbie' (barbecue), watch sporting events or even attend outdoor concerts. In Sydney, there are boat and ferry races and in Adelaide, people celebrate with parades, fireworks and a cricket match.
Australians love their food, beer, and increasingly red wine. Craft and micro-brew beers are gaining tractions amongst the beer folk.
